On the occasion of the 85th anniversary day of the Divine Appearance of Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, we would like to present these wonderful stories about the miraculous events that occurred around him. Srila Govinda Maharaj explained that even if the events and personalities of the higher plane could not be seen, he believed wholeheartedly that they were real because this was taught to him by his Divine Master, Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, whom he had unequivocal faith in.

For those devotees and friends of his who have faith in Srila Govinda Maharaj, they can easily believe that these events are miracles. We hope that their hearts will be gladdened to hear these Pastimes. Many of you were present during these Pastimes and we hope these stories will bring back those wonderful memories of our too brief association on this plane with our dearmost Gurudev, Srila Govinda Maharaj.
In September 1997 Srila Govinda Maharaj was listening to the news in Kolkata about the death of Mother Teresa. The news broadcasts were full of stories and opinions that she should be recognized as a saint. They spoke about the four miracles that the Catholic Church at that time required for sainthood. Srila Govinda Maharaj hearing this jokingly said: “Only four miracles?” Then he began to list some of the miracles that happened in his life. He stopped after five, but could have easily continued.
Although we see these as mystical and miraculous events, we cannot forget that the greatest miracle of all was the seemingly unlimited affection Srila Govinda Maharaj gave to all of us. This affection captured our hearts and gave us inspiration that we could become a devotee one day by following our Divine Master, Srila Govinda Maharaj.
